How to Use Proof in Your Research Paper

A research paper is an essay that analyzes or discusses a topic. No matter what subject you’re in your research paper should provide your ideas and be backed by other views and observations. Legal professionals study the experiences of others to draw comparisons and then applies them to their case to justify their argument. Doctors interpret medical information and interpret them for patients who cannot communicate with their physicians.

One area where this occurs regularly is in the field of education. Bahador Bahrami is an associate professor at the University of Toronto. I was privileged to read his essay. In his critical thinking essay Bahrami uses a method similar to mine known as a presupposition reversal. It is used to demonstrate how our previous beliefs about a subject created the new reality that the prior belief was false. The essay begins with the assertion “Our beliefs about language were deeply ingrained.”

The premise is a very good one, as is the subsequent part of his argument. His starting point is, as I stated earlier, an assumption and it’s a great one. He then demonstrates how his assumption regarding language can cause problems in his writing. The issue lies in his use of language. However the entire argument is based on his language usage. He explains the reason for using the word “theorizing” in the final paragraph of his argument.

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate the importance of your writing and your ability to critically evaluate and critique existing knowledge. Without the ability to apply the knowledge you have learned in your research papers your writing won’t be very unique. I’m sure you’ll have.

The crux of his argument is this: He assumes (and I agree with this assumption) that your basic idea is correct and then proceeds to build his argument from there. However, if you look at his arguments, it becomes apparent that you don’t really see the central idea until he explains it. He makes many presuppositions to support his main argument, which is why the meanings of “proposition” or “intuition” are not recognized. He is guilty of the fallacy known as induction. For more details, refer to my previous blog post on the subject.

To challenge his argument, I’d like to ask you what your main idea is. If it’s not right, then it doesn’t matter what other people think. You’ve shown them that your primary idea isn’t true There’s no need to argue it with them. If it is right it doesn’t matter what others believe. Simply examine your argument to show it.

There will be those who disagree with me and will argue that there can be both a primary and a secondary argument. This issue is not important to me, but it could be addressed if you discuss the details of your argument. I won’t discuss it in this moment. I’ll leave this to be an exercise in intelligence.

This can be a difficult topic, and is one which many students quit before even attempting it. But it doesn’t have to be. It is important to remember that the goal is to prove your point with logic and evidence. Without a solid argument it is difficult.

What makes an effective argument for your essay? There are two types of proof. A deductive proof is built only on facts. It might seem easy, but when you really consider it, you’ll realize that there are a how to improve english writing skills lot of deductive arguments. If I say that this vehicle is unsafe, you are already proving my main point.

It’s easy to slip into the’slippery slope of proof’ where logic is used to back your argument. For instance you could argue that since I said that the car was old, then it is true. You could be right however, the point is that you’ve just created an argument and that’s it. Inductive arguments can also be used. For example, you might say that since I told you that you should buy a car because it’s cheaper than a different car brand and it’s true. The argument is because you have a direct experience with cheaper cars, then you should trust that particular brand more (since it has worked for you).).

Proper proof is key to making your research paper effective and successful. Be sure to examine your argument until the very end. Make sure you support your argument in your conclusion before your reader takes anything away from your paragraph. This will ensure that they understand your main point and that your argument is valid and solid.
